Monocle is committed to producing, commissioning and using beautiful, high-quality imagery across all of our platforms. As part of our passionate and talented photography team, you will play a key role in the creation and production of the distinctive visual content that we are known for.
The deputy photo editor role will suit candidates with experience of commissioning and producing photography for an international media brand who understand the editorial photography production cycle. Reporting to the photography director, you will be responsible for managing projects and delivering imagery across a broad range of Monocle and Konfekt touchpoints.
You will research and commission photographers, edit imagery, manage usage rights and budgets, maintain our digital asset library and work with teams across the business to support their imagery needs.
The successful candidate will demonstrate:
At least five years of experience in commissioning editorial photography features for an international media brand.
The ability to manage the entire photography production process independently, while negotiating multiple work streams and stakeholders.A track record of producing editorial fashion shoots, including location scouting, casting, production and budget management.
Strong relationships with leading photographers working across photojournalism, fashion, still life, travel and portraiture.
Excellent picture-research skills and experience of sourcing imagery for digital features and subscriber communications.
Strong financial acumen, with experience of managing budgets, usage rights and invoicing.
Attention to detail, initiative and a proactive approach.A positive attitude – a true collaborator, you are committed to creating the highest-quality products.
