Financial Accountant - immediate start

We're working with a fast-paced trading business looking to appoint an immediately available Financial Accountant to support the finance team through a busy period.

This is a hands-on role suited to a qualified accountant who enjoys owning the month-end process and producing accurate financial reporting in a commercial environment.

Key responsibilities

• Ownership of the month-end close process.
• Preparation of monthly management accounts and statutory accounts.
• Balance sheet reconciliations and journal postings.
• Preparation of VAT returns and support with tax compliance.
• Assist with the year-end audit and liaise with external auditors.
• Ensure compliance with accounting standards and internal controls.
• Support cash flow reporting and financial analysis.
• Work closely with operational teams to resolve accounting queries.
• Identify opportunities to improve financial processes and controls.

About you

• ACA, ACCA or CIMA qualified (or equivalent).
• Experience in a Financial Accountant role within financial services.
• Strong technical accounting knowledge, including statutory reporting.
• Comfortable managing month-end with minimal supervision.
• Excellent Excel skills and experience using ERP systems.
• Proactive, organised and able to work to tight deadlines.
• Immediately available or available at short notice.
