HR Business Partner (12-Month FTC)

Salary: Up to £50,000 + £7,000 Car Allowance + Benefits

Location: North West / Midlands (Multi-site)

Contract: 12-month Fixed Term Contract (Maternity Cover)

Overview

We are partnering with a large, fast-growing organisation to recruit an experienced HR Business Partner on a 12-month fixed-term contract to cover maternity leave. Supporting a portfolio of diverse sites across the UK, this is a fantastic opportunity to join a newly established, dynamic HR team with genuine scope for longer-term opportunities within the wider group.

The Role

As HR Business Partner, you will support multiple operational sites across Manchester, Leeds, Birmingham, and the wider northern region. This is a highly visible role requiring strong stakeholder engagement and the ability to operate at pace in a changing environment.

You will work closely with site leadership teams to drive people initiatives, support cultural alignment, and ensure HR practices are fit for purpose across a diverse and evolving business.

Key Responsibilities

Partner with stakeholders across multiple sites to provide strategic and operational HR support

Support the delivery of people plans aligned to business objectives

Provide guidance on employee relations matters (with complex cases escalated within the team)

Review and ensure policies and procedures remain relevant and effective

Drive initiatives around talent development, including apprenticeships and upskilling

Support reward and benefits reviews to ensure competitiveness and engagement

Contribute to HR projects, including culture and integration within newly acquired businesses

Work collaboratively within a supportive HR team to share workload and best practice

About You

Key requirements

Proven experience in an HR Business Partner or similar role

Experience supporting multiple locations/sites

Strong stakeholder management and relationship-building skills

Ability to work flexibly and adapt to changing priorities

Comfortable operating within a developing HR function

Passionate about improving people processes and culture

Sector experience is not essential — we are open to candidates from a range of backgrounds.

Working Pattern & Travel

Hybrid working with flexibility to work from home

Regular travel to sites required (typically 2–3 days per week, flexible approach)

Visits to all sites approximately once per month

Team meetings held every 6 weeks in a central location

Travel costs covered, including car allowance and mileage reimbursement
