Program Director

Location: Sydney CBD, Hybrid Working (3 Days Onsite)Duration: 6-Month Contract + Extension OpportunityRate: Up to $1,300.00 + Super (based on experience)We are seeking an experienced Program Director to lead a large-scale transformation program within a major Federal Government environment.

The program spans digital services, platform modernisation, data, cyber security and operational transformation, delivering significant improvements to customer experience, service delivery and organisational capability.

As Program Director, you will provide strategic leadership across a complex, multi-stream program environment, overseeing delivery partners, executive stakeholders and multidisciplinary teams. You will be accountable for driving delivery outcomes, managing risk and governance, and ensuring alignment between business objectives and technology execution.

This role requires a seasoned transformation leader with exceptional stakeholder engagement skills and a proven track record delivering large, complex programs within government or highly regulated industries.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the end-to-end delivery of a large-scale transformation program comprising multiple workstreams.
• Provide executive-level leadership across business, technology and delivery functions.
• Establish and maintain effective governance, reporting and program controls.
• Manage complex stakeholder relationships, including senior executives, program sponsors and delivery partners.
• Oversee multiple vendors and systems integrators to ensure successful delivery outcomes.
• Drive program planning, dependency management, risk mitigation and issue resolution.
• Ensure successful delivery of customer-facing digital services and platform enhancements.
• Manage program budgets, forecasting and financial governance activities.
• Foster collaboration across diverse teams to achieve strategic business and technology outcomes.

About You

To be successful in this role, you will bring:

Australian Citizenship (mandatory)Extensive experience operating as a Program Director within large and complex enterprise environments.

Proven success delivering high value significant transformation programs from inception through delivery.

Experience leading major digital, technology, platform or customer transformation initiatives.

Strong Federal Government, regulatory, financial services or other highly regulated industry experience.

Demonstrated capability managing multiple vendors, systems integrators and large delivery teams.

Outstanding executive stakeholder engagement and influencing skills.

Strong commercial, financial and governance management experience.

Experience delivering customer-facing digital services, platform modernisation, registry transformation or regulatory technology programs will be highly regarded.
