Commercial Analyst

Location: KildareHybrid/Remote: HybridAn exciting opportunity has arisen with a well-known, highly progressive, company for a Commercial Analyst to join a growing commercial team supporting the delivery of large-scale projects.

This role is ideal for someone with strong commercial and analytical skills who enjoys working across multiple disciplines to help progress projects from concept through to investment approval.

Working closely with commercial, finance, technical and development teams, you will play an integral role in preparing investment cases, coordinating governance processes and ensuring projects are supported by robust commercial analysis and strategic insight.

Key Responsibilities

• Commercial Governance & Investment Approvals
• Coordinate commercial inputs for internal governance and investment approval processes, ensuring documentation is complete, accurate and delivered within agreed timelines.
• Monitor project milestones and maintain visibility of upcoming approvals, working with key stakeholders to manage requirements and deliverables.
• Compile and review investment papers by bringing together financial, technical, legal and commercial inputs for senior decision-makers.
• Track actions arising from governance reviews and contribute to the ongoing improvement of internal approval processes.
• Business Case Development
• Support the preparation and review of financial models, including scenario analysis, sensitivities and risk assessments.
• Assist in developing compelling commercial business cases that clearly communicate project value, risks and opportunities.
• Ensure commercial recommendations are aligned with strategic objectives and supported by market insights.
• Stakeholder Collaboration
• Work closely with cross-functional project teams to ensure commercial considerations are embedded throughout the project lifecycle.
• Support the preparation of presentations, briefing papers and commercial updates for senior stakeholders.
• Assist in coordinating engagement with external stakeholders by preparing supporting documentation and monitoring follow-up actions.
• Commercial Project Support
• Participate in project meetings, providing commercial input and identifying key risks, assumptions and dependencies.
• Maintain accurate records of commercial decisions and contribute to effective project governance and reporting.
• Market & Commercial Analysis
• Conduct research into market trends, pricing, policy developments and competitor activity to support commercial decision-making.
• Provide analysis and insights that strengthen investment cases and support strategic planning.

Key Skills

• A degree in Engineering, Business, Finance, Economics or a related discipline.
• Around 2-3 years' experience in a commercial, financial or strategic role, ideally within infrastructure, capital projects or a similarly complex environment.
• Experience supporting business cases, investment appraisals or governance approval processes would be highly advantageous.
• Strong analytical skills, with experience in financial modelling and commercial evaluation.
• Excellent organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, with the confidence to work across multidisciplinary teams.A proactive, collaborative approach with a keen interest in commercial strategy and project delivery.
• Professional qualifications such as CFA or an MBA would be beneficial but are not essential.
