Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Account Assistant role based in the Manchester Area, United Kingdom. The Account Assistant will support day-to-day accounting activities, including processing invoices, maintaining ledgers, and assisting with month-end reporting. The role involves handling petty cash, supporting credit control functions, and helping to reconcile accounts.

The individual will communicate with internal teams and external contacts to resolve queries, ensure accurate records, and support timely payments and collections. The Account Assistant will also assist the finance team with general administrative tasks and contribute to improving financial processes and controls.

Qualifications

• Candidates should possess skills in Accounting and Finance to support core bookkeeping, reconciliations, and financial reporting.
• Candidates should possess skills in Credit Control to help manage outstanding balances, follow up on payments, and maintain accurate debtor records.
• Candidates should possess skills in handling Petty Cash, including recording transactions, balancing cash, and maintaining clear documentation.
• Candidates should possess strong Communication skills to interact effectively with colleagues, clients, and suppliers and to respond to queries clearly and professionally.
• Relevant experience in an accounts or finance support role, ideally within a commercial environment.
• Comfort with basic accounting software and spreadsheets (e.g., Excel) and strong attention to detail.
• Ability to prioritize tasks, work to deadlines, and maintain confidentiality of financial information.
• A relevant qualification or progress toward one (e.g., AAT or equivalent) is beneficial but not mandatory.
