Special Ed Teacher's Aide (Para) in San Francisco

Amazing opportunity to support students in a special education classroom at Denman Middle School in San Francisco.

We’re helping recruit a Special Education Paraeducator (teacher’s aide) — someone who works closely with a classroom teacher to support students who need additional academic, behavioral, and day-to-day assistance.

This is a hands-on, meaningful role where you’ll

• Work directly with middle school students, often in small groups or 1:1
• Help guide lessons, reinforce learning, and support classroom routines
• Assist students with social, emotional, and sometimes physical needs
• Play a key role in creating a structured, supportive learning environment

If you enjoy working with kids, are patient and adaptable, and want to make a real impact, this can be a great entry point into education or a long-term path in special ed.

Role details

• Position: Special Education Paraeducator
• Pay: $31.52 – $36.87 per hour
• Schedule: Part-time, school year calendar
• Location: Denman Middle School (Sunnyside/Ingleside, near Balboa BART)
• Basic qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent (AA / 48 college units / CBEST / Instructional Aide exam)
• Interest in working with students with special needs
• Authorized to work in the U.S.

Experience in special education is helpful but not required — the most important traits are reliability, empathy, and a willingness to learn.
