We are a highly respected commercial litigation and trial firm located in Dallas, TX, currently experiencing significant growth.

The Role

We are seeking an experienced Litigation and Trial Paralegal to directly support two of our partners. This role requires an independent, proactive professional who can manage cases through their entire lifecycle.

Responsibilities

• Manage commercial litigation matters, primarily breach of contract and business disputes, from inception to conclusion.
• Calculate and calendar all critical deadlines, anticipating upcoming hearings, depositions, pretrial requirements, and trials.
• Prepare for and provide support at trials and hearings, which are mostly local to the Dallas-Fort Worth area, with occasional travel across Texas or out of state.
• Execute document e-filing, predominantly within Texas state courts.
• Collaborate daily with assigned legal secretaries who provide administrative support and backup desk coverage.
• Embrace and utilize legal technology, including AI tools like Harvey, to streamline workflows.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of civil litigation experience, with recent commercial litigation experience highly preferred.
• Candidates with exclusively personal injury backgrounds will not be a fit for this specific docket.
• Proven ability to independently prepare for depositions, hearings, and trials.
• Comfortable learning new legal technologies; experience with eDiscovery and trial software (Relativity, Disco, OnCue) is a plus, but we will train candidates who are tech-savvy and comfortable self-teaching.
• Bachelor’s Degree is preferred but not required.

Schedule & Compensation

• Base salary starting at $80,000, varying based on experience level.
• Annual billable requirement of 1,600 hours, which averages to about 132 hours per month.
• Standard 37.5-hour work week with overtime available and permitted.
• Flexible daily schedule within standard 8:30 AM to 5:30 PM office hours, provided 7.5 hours are completed daily.
• Hybrid schedule featuring one work-from-home day of your choosing each week.
• Discretionary annual bonus structure that rewards tenure and high billable output, without penalizing for missing the 1,600-hour target during slow firm periods.
