Accounts Payable Specialist ($21/hr - $26/hr)

Location: Atlanta, GA (Onsite)

Pay: $21.00 -$26.00 per hour (Depending on experience)

Schedule: Full-Time

Duration: 6-month contract with strong potential for extension

We are partnering with a well-established Atlanta organization seeking a seasoned Accounts Payable Specialist to support a structured Financial Operations team. This is an initial 6-month assignment with the potential to extend based on performance and business needs.

The ideal candidate can step in with minimal training and confidently manage full-cycle accounts payable responsibilities in a deadline-driven environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Process high-volume vendor invoices and weekly payments
• Enter and validate invoices in an electronic A/P system
• Perform 3-way matching (PO, receipt, invoice)
• Prepare and process recurring bi-monthly payments
• Process program-related and subsidy payments
• Enter voids, stop payments, refunds, and credits
• Research and respond to 1099 requests
• Prepare accounts payable reports
• Respond to vendor and internal department inquiries
• Maintain documentation in accordance with retention policies

Required Qualifications

• High school diploma
• 3+ years of recent, full-cycle accounts payable experience (Must have)
• Strong experience with PO matching and invoice validation
• Experience working in high-volume processing environments
• Experience handling 25+ invoices/day (Must have)
• Strong Excel skills (It will be tested)
• Ability to meet strict payment deadlines with minimal supervision
• Professional communication and strong customer service skills

Preferred

• Coursework in finance, accounting, or business
• Experience with PaySCAN, Yardi, or similar A/P systems

• Professional office environment
• Onsite position
• Paid parking is not provided; candidate is responsible for parking
• Conveniently located near MARTA access
• Primarily seated, computer-based work
