APAC Tax Advisor – International Commodities Trading Group

Overview An established global commodities trading group with a strong footprint across energy, metals and low carbon markets is expanding its Asia Pacific presence. Known for its commercial agility, disciplined risk approach and entrepreneurial culture, the firm operates across key international trading hubs and supports sophisticated cross-border activities.

The business is now seeking a senior tax professional to lead regional tax matters and act as a strategic partner to its front-office and corporate functions.

Role As the APAC Tax Lead, you will take ownership of all regional tax activities, reporting to global tax leadership while collaborating closely with regional stakeholders across Finance, Trading, Legal and Treasury. You will provide practical, commercially aligned tax advisory on complex transactions, structured deals and expansion initiatives, ensuring tax considerations are embedded in decision-making.

The role also oversees compliance across multiple jurisdictions, manages transfer pricing frameworks, and leads tax audits and governance efforts. In addition, you will play a key role in corporate initiatives including M&A, restructuring, financing and new market entry, offering broad exposure to dynamic, cross-border trading environments.

Requirements

• You hold a degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field, with a professional tax qualification such as ACA, ACCA, CPA or CTA preferred.
• You bring approximately 10-15 years of relevant experience, ideally within multinational corporates, commodities trading firms or a Big Four environment.
• A strong grasp of international taxation, transfer pricing and multi-jurisdictional operations is essential, with prior exposure to commodities or financial markets highly advantageous.
• You demonstrate sound commercial judgment, strong stakeholder management skills and the ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced, autonomous setting.
