Regional Transport & Logistics Senior Coordinator

With the opening of a regional hub in Hong Kong, LONGCHAMP is looking for a Transport & Logistics Senior Coordinator to oversee the upstream and downstream flows of merchandise across the Asia-Pacific Region, liaise transparently and efficiently with the LONGCHAMP team in France and across APAC, and ensure smooth resolution of any transportation or customs-related issue that may arise with our freight forwarders.

Objectives and Responsibilities

Reporting to the Regional Logistics Manager, APAC (based in Hong Kong) and functionally to the Global Transport Manager (based in France), LONGCHAMP is looking for a candidate with strong retail import-export expertise, able to work independently and deliver consistently on the routine documentation needs of the transportation flows for sellable items (leather goods, accessories) as well as non-sellable items (such as packaging, window displays).

It is expected that the candidate can be the bridge between the transport & customs headquarters (located in France), the regional hub (located in Hong Kong), and all the destination markets across APAC, ensuring that the processes are followed thru and contributing to all ad-hoc requests entrusted by the Regional Logistics Manager with their expertise and feedback.

It is also expected from the candidate to assist with the administrative work of the transportation flow, such as invoice review and request for quotations, as well as performance reports.

Key Responsibilities

As the regional transport representative of LONGCHAMP, you will take lead in requesting quotations, signing telex release. It is expected that you will be making informed decisions on operational topics such as late CFS submission, detention of shipments, claims on inadequate container conditions, before alerting headquarters for support.

It is crucial that such tasks as performed timely and proactively. As the sole coordinator in Asia-Pacific, you should have strong autonomy, with a natural sense of organization.

• Daily Tasks > import and export shipments arrangements thru SAP in-line with weekly schedule, place and adjust booking with carriers and forwarders, issue packing list and invoices from SAP, confirm data in TMS, coordinate with stakeholders (sitting in France, Greater China, Asia-Pacific, Hong Kong office) for documentation needs, communicate with all destinations on their sailing arrangements.
• Weekly Tasks > request ad-hoc quotations, arrangement customs inspections, fill-in BLs and complete Telex Release, answer claims and feedback from destination markets on any delivery issue, escalate any backlog or delay identified, prepare written review of ongoing sailings over the week.
• Monthly Tasks > review shipments routine according to carrier monthly sailings and adjust planning with the rest of the Regional Logistics team if necessary, prepare written review of the past month, review billing as per incoterms and for any extra request.
• Ad-Hoc Tasks > support process improvements together with Regional team, freight & transport team, sourcing team (e.g. vendor portal, free-trade agreement flows), follow-up on carriers and freight-forwarders action plan (e.g. poor lead-times, complains).

Required qualifications

• Minimum of 10 years’ experience within the APAC region (experience within French companies and strong retail background is preferred)
• Languages: English, Mandarin (French, Cantonese is a plus)
• Software: master in SAP and Excel, knowledge of TMS and DAS (CargoWise is not necessary)
