Position: Cyber Security Pre-sales Engineer

Location: Hong Kong & Macau (with regular onsite presence in Macau, 2–3 days per week)

Role Overview

We are seeking a skilled Pre-sales Engineer to partner with our sales team and channel partners across Hong Kong and Macau. In this technical pre‑sales role, you will bridge customer needs with our award‑winning security solutions, with a primary focus on the Macau market—requiring onsite presence there 2–3 days per week.

You will be the technical authority for prospects and existing clients, helping them navigate complex security challenges.

Key Responsibilities

• Collaborate with the sales team to identify and engage prospects, building strong relationships with partners to drive revenue growth in Hong Kong and Macau.
• Maintain deep expertise in Hillstone’s full solution portfolio, articulating how our products protect organisations against modern threats and safeguard operations and data.
• Educate partners, prospects, and customers on technical, operational, and network security issues, positioning Hillstone as the ideal solution partner.
• Lead technical meetings with potential and existing customers to gather requirements, diagnose pain points, and propose tailored solutions.
• Work closely with R&D and TAC teams to address technical queries, share best practices, and manage Proof‑of‑Concept (PoC) deployments.
• Prepare and respond to the technical sections of RFIs and RFPs, with support from product specialists.
• Actively participate in cybersecurity events and partner activities across the region.
• Regular travel to Macau (2–3 days/week) is required, in addition to occasional international travel within Southeast Asia (25%–40% overall).

Requirements

• 5+ years of engineering and pre‑sales experience with security or network products.
• Excellent presentation, communication, and interpersonal skills—comfortable engaging with C‑level and technical stakeholders.
• Open‑minded, with strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities; a willingness to listen and learn.
• Solid understanding of typical enterprise customer network environments.
• Deep knowledge of routing protocols, L2/L3 switching, VPN, LAN, WLAN, IPS, NGFW, Anti‑Virus, IPSEC, SSL, Radius, PKI, IKE, Virtualization, and cloud architectures.
• Hands‑on experience with security solutions such as NGFW, WAF, IPS, SD‑WAN, Mail Security Gateways, ADC, and XDR.
• Highly self‑motivated, goal‑oriented, and able to work independently.
• Good awareness of the current threat landscape (a plus).
• Effective oral and written English communication skills; proficiency in Cantonese or Mandarin is an advantage for daily client interactions in Hong Kong and Macau.
• CISSP or other security‑related certifications are preferred.
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
