We operate two established, independently owned restaurants in the northern suburbs Chicago-area market, each with deep community roots and long-standing recognition.

Compensation

$60,000 – $80,000+ based on experience, plus future profit-sharing opportunities. High earning potential for the right candidate.

We are seeking a highly organized, hands-on Director of Operations / General Manager to oversee two restaurants, possibly three operations in the North Chicagoland area.

This role is ideal for an experienced leader who can manage day-to-day restaurant operations while also handling administrative, compliance, and business functions.

This is not simply a floor manager position. We are looking for someone who can operate as the owner's right hand and help oversee all aspects of the business.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily restaurant operations
• Manage employee scheduling, staffing, and labor controls
• Recruit, train, and supervise management and hourly staff
• Coordinate vendor relationships and purchasing
• Monitor inventory and ordering procedures
• Review invoices and ensure timely payments
• Coordinate with accountants, payroll providers, and outside vendors
• Assist with sales tax reporting and business compliance requirements
• Track and maintain business licenses, permits, liquor licenses, and other regulatory requirements
• Ensure compliance with health department, gaming, liquor, and local regulations
• Oversee cash handling procedures and daily deposit reconciliation
• Develop systems and procedures to improve efficiency and profitability
• Prepare weekly/monthly operational and financial reports for ownership
• Respond to facility maintenance, contractor, and operational issues

Qualifications

• 5+ years of management experience in hospitality, restaurant, retail, hotel, casino, gaming, or related operations
• Strong organizational and leadership skills
• Experience managing budgets, invoices, purchasing, and labor costs
• Comfortable working with accountants, vendors, and regulatory agencies
• Strong problem-solving ability
• High level of integrity, accountability, and professionalism
• Ability to lead teams while maintaining operational standards
• Experience with POS systems, inventory systems, and reporting preferred
