Conduct regular maintenance and inspections of all machinery and equipment on board cruise ships, including engines, generators, pumps, and propulsion systems.
Troubleshoot and repair any technical issues that may arise during voyages, ensuring the safety and comfort of guests and crew.
Implement and adhere to strict safety protocols and regulations set by the company and international maritime laws.
Collaborate with other engineers and crew members to develop and implement efficient and effective maintenance and repair strategies.
Keep detailed records of all maintenance and repair work, including equipment manuals, logs, and reports.
Stay up-to-date with industry trends and advancements in marine engineering technology, and make recommendations for improvements to existing systems and processes.
Oversee and train junior engineers and crew members in the proper operation and maintenance of equipment.
Monitor and manage inventory levels of spare parts and equipment, ensuring timely and cost-effective procurement.
Participate in regular safety drills and emergency response procedures, and act as a first responder in case of emergencies.
Maintain a clean and organized work environment, adhering to all safety and environmental regulations.
Communicate effectively with other departments and personnel on board, providing technical support and expertise as needed.
Adhere to company policies and procedures, including those related to confidentiality and professional conduct.
Willingness to travel and work on different cruise ships, often for extended periods of time.
Flexibility to work irregular hours and respond to emergency situations as needed.
Demonstrate a positive attitude and strong work ethic while representing the company and upholding its values and standards.
