The HR Team Leader leads a team responsible for end-to-end payroll and related HR processes, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and high-quality service delivery to both corporate employees and operational teams. This role combines people management with process accountability, and requires strong leadership, problem-solving skills, and deep payroll expertise within a large-scale, fast-paced operational environment

Team Management & Development

• Manage, assign, and supervise the performance of the payroll/HR operations team
• Train, coach, and develop team members' technical and professional capabilities
• Plan workforce allocation and resourcing to match workload across each payroll cycle

Payroll Operations & Process Control

• Own end-to-end accountability (sign-off) for the accuracy, completeness, and timeliness of payroll for employees and driver-partners
• Review and approve timekeeping, compensation, and benefits data prior to processing
• Oversee statutory deductions, tax filings, and payroll-related compliance requirements
• Build, standardize, and continuously improve payroll processes to increase efficiency and reduce errors
• Act as the escalation point for complex payroll issues raised by the team

Compliance & Risk Manageme

• ntEnsure all payroll and HR operations comply with local labor laws, regulations, and company poli
• cyLead preparation of government reporting and coordinate audits related to payroll and statutory contributio
• nsAssess compliance risks and recommend mitigation measures

Stakeholder Management & Internal Communication

• Serve as the primary point of contact with Finance, Operations, and other stakeholders on payroll matters
• Lead the drafting and approval of internal communications on payroll, compensation, and benefits policies
• Build strong working relationships with corporate staff, field personnel, and driver-partners to enhance employee experience

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Human Resource Management, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field
• Minimum 5–6 years of experience in payroll/HR operations, including at least 1–2 years in a team lead or supervisory role
• Experience in the Fleet, Transportation, or Logistics industry, or with non-traditional workforces (gig economy, driver-partners), is a plus
• Strong working knowledge of HRIS systems, timekeeping, and payroll software (e.g., Sprout, SAP, Oracle, or similar), including implementation experience
• Solid understanding of local labor laws, social insurance, personal income tax, and payroll compliance regulations
• Proven leadership skills — able to manage a team, delegate effectively, and evaluate performance
• Strong communication and negotiation skills, able to engage stakeholders across all levels, from leadership to field staff and driver-partners
• Strong organizational and prioritization skills in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment
• Strong problem-solving, conflict resolution, and decision-making abilities
• High level of integrity and discretion in handling sensitive employee and payroll data
