Laboratory Support Associate – Part-time

We’re expanding our North American laboratory operations and are seeking a meticulous, hands-on Lab Support Associate to help with kit creation and assembly and some day-to-day prep work. This role is designed as part-time to start, with potential to convert to full-time based on business needs.

You’ll learn our platforms, help keep experiments running smoothly, and collaborate closely with scientists and engineers supporting customer projects and demos.

Key responsibilities

• Kit assembly - Prepare buffers/reagents, aliquot compounds, label consumables, package all materials for shipment, handle all shipping paperwork.
• Experiment support & sample prep – Prepare buffers/reagents, aliquot compounds, label samples, maintain logs, and support assay setup under established SOPs (GLP like discipline).
• Instrument readiness – Assist with daily/weekly checks (startup/shutdown, basic calibrations), coordinate PMs with service, and help maintain readiness of APC platforms and ancillary equipment.
• Plate & consumables management – Stage and track lab consumables; monitor inventory, place restock requests, and receive/organize deliveries.
• Assist Lab Technician with Cell culture work (as qualified)
• Record keeping / lab tracking – Act as back up for Lab Technician during PTO (lot numbers, catalog numbers, and expiration dates)
• General lab operations – Glassware wash, autoclave cycles, maintain CO₂ incubators/water baths, and coordinate service calls as needed.

What you’ll bring Ideal candidates will have

• 0–2+ years in a wet-lab environment (industry or academic core facility acceptable).
• An interest in pursuing a career as a Laboratory Technician
• Comfort with routine lab techniques (pipetting, solution prep, balances, pH meters) and strict documentation.
• High attention to detail, reliability, and a proactive approach to housekeeping and safety.
• Cell culture experience (adherent/suspension), viability counting, and basic aseptic technique.
• Ability to lift/move lab supplies (up to ~25–30 lbs) and stand for extended periods during prep.
• Strong organizational skills; familiarity with Microsoft office suite.

Nice-to-have

• Experience around electrophysiology/ion channels, automated platforms, or high-throughput workflows.
• Experience with Microsoft Suite (Excel, Prism) and comfort reading SOPs and equipment manuals.

Compensation & schedule

• Part-time, hourly; competitive pay commensurate with experience.
• Typical on-site coverage across 4–5 weekdays; exact schedule coordinated with the Lab Manager.
