The Centre for Doctoral Training in Next Generation Organ Chip Technologies (CoaCT) is an EPSRC funded project supporting the training of 4 cohorts of (approximately 15) PhD students.
We are looking for an individual to join the team for 5 years to support the development and maintenance of relationships with external stakeholders (administrative personnel, scientists, project leads and senior management) in the field of Organ-on-a-Chip.
The role will be responsible for all aspects of the placements for the COaCT students, which includes building and managing industry relationships, managing industry events, co-ordinating and monitoring student placements and liaising with colleagues to foster industrial placement opportunities.
As most of the COaCT studentships have identified industrial partners the management of the relationships with these industrial partners is vital to the success of the project
We are looking for a motivated, organised and professional individual with an enthusiasm for supporting relationships externally and within QMUL, developing and implementing appropriate policies and developing and running administrative processes. A background of working with universities and with industry is desirable.
An ability to prioritise a varied workload, manage projects, to set and meet deadlines is important. A degree is essential, as well as a demonstrated ability to communicate well, with good interpersonal skills, and to work within a team, to support the development of relationships with a range of people is required.
The Industry Relationship Manager will specifically manage day-to-day interactions with stakeholder partners, facilitate placement opportunities and will ensure partners are fully engaged with COaCT, including the events programme.
About the School/Department/Institute/Project
This post is within the School of Engineering and Materials Science, a large research intensive School comprising 110 academics and a community of approximately 1,700 UG & PGT students, and over 200 PhD researchers.
COaCT has been funded to train bioengineers to lead the development and implementation of organ-chip technologies, ensuring ongoing UK leadership in both therapeutic development and reduction in animal use. Its aim is to train graduates with technical bioengineering skills in advanced organ-chip models, alongside an awareness of the industrial, regulatory, legislative and ethical frameworks.

£22,144 to £25,878 per annum (50% pro-rata £44,288 - £51,755 per annum)
