Help Desk/Desktop Support Analyst

We are looking for a customer-focused Desktop Support Analyst to join a Financial Services organization in Toronto, Ontario on a Contract basis. This position plays a key role in supporting employees and advisors by resolving day-to-day technical issues, preparing equipment for new hires, and maintaining a reliable end-user computing environment.

The successful candidate will work closely with internal IT teams while delivering attentive, responsive service to both technical and non-technical users. This is a 2 month contract to start, fully in office for client in North York, Ontario.

Responsibilities

• Deliver first- and second-level technical support for staff and advisors, addressing incidents and service requests in a timely and thorough manner.
• Set up workstations, user accounts, and equipment for new employees, ensuring a smooth onboarding experience from day one.
• Diagnose and resolve issues involving desktops, laptops, printers, scanners, mobile devices, software applications, and network access.
• Administer and support core workplace technologies, including Microsoft 365, Windows 10 and 11, Active Directory, Azure, and Intune.
• Track, assign, and maintain IT hardware inventory, including device deployment, recovery, and lifecycle updates.
• Escalate complex issues appropriately and collaborate with Infrastructure and Security teams to support broader technical initiatives and problem resolution.
• Provide deskside and remote assistance to users with varying levels of technical knowledge, maintaining a strong service-oriented approach.
• Create and update support documentation, ticket notes, and knowledge resources to improve issue tracking and team efficiency
• Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in IT support, desktop support, or help desk environments.
• Hands-on experience supporting Microsoft 365, Windows 10 and 11, Active Directory, Azure, and Intune.
• Strong troubleshooting capability across hardware, software, connectivity, and end-user device issues.
• Experience with asset management, device deployment, and onboarding support for new users.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills, with the ability to support non-technical stakeholders effectively.
• Familiarity with service desk operations, deskside support, and documentation best practices.
• Exposure to environments using technologies such as Cisco, Citrix, Mac computers, and Android devices is considered an asset.
• Previous experience in financial services or insurance is preferred, and a credit check will be required before start.
