Senior Estimator, ICI / Buildings – Permanent – 4269

About the Opportunity

Some estimating desks hand you the same building, over and over, until the numbers run themselves. This one does the opposite. Our client is one of the busiest privately-owned builders in the province right now, and their buildings pursuit board reflects it – healthcare and primary care campuses, university and institutional facilities, senior living towers and mid-rise residential, all live at the same time.

This is a self-performing, vertically integrated builder. From land and financing through estimating, construction and commissioning, the work is kept in-house, which means an estimator here sees the whole picture rather than a slice of it. You would be pricing complex ICI and buildings pursuits scaling into the hundreds of millions, across a genuine mix of sectors rather than one repeated building type.

About You

The successful candidate will have the following

• You have led major ICI pursuits: you have owned the estimate on large, complex buildings work, healthcare, institutional, industrial, residential or mixed-use, and you are comfortable carrying a pursuit from concept through to a winning number
• You thrive on variety, not repetition: you would rather move between sectors and building types than settle into one, and you see an unfamiliar pursuit as the interesting part of the job
• You think like a builder, not just a calculator: self-perform scope, constructability, buy-out and risk are second nature, and you know a good estimate is grounded in how the thing actually gets built
• You raise the level around you: you enjoy mentoring, sharpening juniors, and setting the standard for how pursuits are put together
• You want the ceiling raised: you are looking for growth, greater responsibility and exposure to work that keeps you challenged well into the future

• A pipeline most estimators only read about: a deep, live board of complex buildings pursuits scaling into the hundreds of millions
