Bookkeeper

Overview

We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Bookkeeper to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in accounting principles and practices, with experience in both corporate and public accounting environments. This role is essential for maintaining accurate financial records, managing accounts payable and receivable, and ensuring compliance with tax regulations.

The Bookkeeper will utilize various financial software programs to streamline processes and improve efficiency.

Responsibilities

• Maintain accurate financial records by recording daily transactions in the general ledger.
• Perform bank reconciliations to ensure all transactions are accounted for and discrepancies are resolved.
• Manage accounts payable and receivable, ensuring timely payments and collections.
• Prepare monthly financial statements and reports for management review.
• Assist with tax preparation and filing, ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.
• Conduct regular audits of financial data to ensure accuracy and integrity.
• Provide support during external audits by preparing necessary documentation.

Requirements

• Proven experience in bookkeeping or a similar role, preferably in public accounting.
• Strong understanding of technical accounting principles and practices.
• Experience with bank reconciliation processes and general ledger accounting.
• Knowledge of corporate accounting practices and tax regulations.
• Strong attention to detail with excellent organizational skills.
• Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team environment.
