Desktop Support Technician

We are looking for a Desktop Support Technician to provide dependable onsite technical support for a nonprofit organization in Asheville, North Carolina. This role is ideal for someone who is confident working independently, values a mission-driven environment, and can deliver responsive service to a small user community.

The position offers a hands-on opportunity to support both Mac and Windows environments while partnering closely with internal IT leadership to keep daily operations running smoothly.

Responsibilities

• Deliver onsite desktop and help desk support for staff, resolving hardware, software, and access issues in a timely manner.
• Maintain and troubleshoot devices and user environments across both macOS and Windows platforms.
• Manage account setup, permissions, and directory-related tasks within Active Directory and Microsoft-based systems.
• Track, update, and resolve support requests through Jira, ensuring clear communication and accurate documentation.
• Provide day-to-day assistance with Microsoft applications, including Outlook, to support employee productivity.
• Share coverage responsibilities with the broader IT team and participate in an on-call rotation outside standard business hours as needed.
• Work closely with internal technology leadership to escalate issues appropriately and maintain continuity of support.
• Contribute to a reliable end-user computing environment for a small office by identifying recurring issues and recommending practical fixes.
