The Maintenance Company (TMC) is a 20-year-old, full-service home maintenance concierge and light remodeling company serving the Nashville area. We help homeowners protect, maintain, and improve their homes through proactive maintenance, repairs, inspections, and remodeling projects.

Our clients trust us because we make homeownership easier. From changing a light fixture to coordinating a kitchen remodel, we strive to be the first call for anything around the home.

We're looking for a Bookkeeper / Office Manager who keeps the numbers clean, the office running, and the details handled—so our field team can focus on taking care of clients.

About the Role

As Bookkeeper / Office Manager, you'll own the financial and administrative backbone of TMC. From accounts receivable and payable to payroll and client invoicing, you'll keep our books accurate and our operations organized.

You'll work closely with leadership and our Customer Success and field teams, making sure jobs are billed correctly, vendors are paid on time, and the office runs smoothly. In a field service business, accurate job costing and timely billing are everything—and you'll be the one who makes that happen.

What You'll Do

Responsibilities include

• Manage day-to-day bookkeeping in QuickBooks and Sage 100
• Process accounts receivable and accounts payable
• Prepare and process payroll
• Generate client invoices and manage billing cycles
• Track and follow up on outstanding receivables
• Reconcile bank and credit card accounts
• Support job costing and financial reporting for leadership
• Maintain organized financial records and documentation
• Manage general office administration: vendors, supplies, filing, and correspondence
• Support the field and Customer Success teams with administrative needs
• Identify ways to improve financial and office processes as we grow

Qualifications

We're looking for someone who is

• Experienced in bookkeeping or accounting, ideally in construction or field services
• Proficient in QuickBooks; Sage 100 experience strongly preferred
• Experienced with AR/AP, payroll, and invoicing/billing
• Detail-oriented and highly organized
• Trustworthy and discreet with confidential financial information
• Comfortable with modern software and quick to learn new tools

Experience with job costing, progress billing, or construction accounting is highly valued.
