Legal Secretary/Paralegal

Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Legal Secretary or Paralegal to join our divorce firm. The ideal candidate will need to be proficient in typing, ensuring the smooth operation of our law office as it relates to divorce law. Including, but not limited to, preparing complaints, marital dissolution agreements, parenting plans, and child support worksheets.

This role requires typing quickly as well as exceptional organizational skills, and proficiency in basic Microsoft Office and Excel software.

Duties

• Provide administrative duties managing calendars and scheduling appointments.
• Prepare and file divorce documents, ensuring compliance with court rules and deadlines.
• Manage case files and documentation through effective document management systems.
• Draft, proofread, and edit divorce paperwork.
• Maintain accurate records through data entry and filing systems while ensuring confidentiality of sensitive information.
• Coordinate communication between clients, attorneys, and court personnel with excellent phone etiquette.

Qualifications

• Preferred to have experience with typing as a Legal Secretary or in a similar administrative role within a law office environment.
• Familiarity with Divorce law, Marital Dissolution Agreements, and Parenting Plans preferred.
• Strong typing skills with the ability to draft legal documents accurately and effectively.
• Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently while maintaining attention to detail.
• Experience with clerical duties including filing, efiling and data entry.
• Ability to work collaboratively within a team while also being self-motivated to complete tasks independently.
• Strong interpersonal skills for effective communication with clients and colleagues alike.

Pay: $22.00 - $29.00 per hour
