Full Charge Bookkeeper / Accountant (Hybrid)

Location: Tampa, FL (Hybrid)

Position Type: Full-Time, Direct Hire

Salary: $85,000 - $95,000 per year (Depending on experience)

Reports To: Firm Owner / Managing Partner

Position Summary

The Full Charge Bookkeeper / Accountant will oversee the day-to-day accounting functions for a diverse portfolio of clients. This role handles everything from full-cycle bookkeeping and payroll support to preparing financial statements and conducting reconciliations.

The ideal candidate brings hands-on experience with QuickBooks Desktop/Online, strong organizational skills, and a solid understanding of accounting and bookkeeping principles in a business environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Maintain accurate financial records using ledgers, journals, spreadsheets, databases, and accounting software
• Work with both QuickBooks Desktop and QuickBooks Online to manage client accounts
• Manage and review the general ledger for accuracy and completeness
• Manage accounts payable, accounts receivable, debit and credit activity, deposits, vouchers, checks, and cash processing
• Verify figures, postings, financial documents, and account balances
• Reconcile bank accounts, research discrepancies, and report issues in a timely and professional manner
• Prepare weekly and monthly reports and compile professional client packages
• Prepare and file 1099s for client vendors
• Assist CPAs directly on special client projects
• Interact professionally with clients, their family members, and their employees
• Code documents according to procedures and support compliance with internal, state, and federal financial regulations

Qualifications & Skills

• 3-5+ years of full-charge bookkeeping or general accounting experience (CPA firm or multi-client environment experience is a plus)
• Proficiency with QuickBooks Desktop and strong Microsoft Outlook skills are required
• Solid understanding of core accounting and bookkeeping principles in a public accounting environment
