Position Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Bankruptcy Paralegal with a minimum of five (5) years of experience in Chapter 7, 11, and 13 bankruptcy matters, including substantial experience supporting complex Chapter 11 reorganizations, to join our team.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage a full Chapter 7, 11, and 13 bankruptcy caseload under the supervision of assigned attorneys, including preparing and filing voluntary petitions, schedules, statements of financial affairs, plans of reorganization, disclosure statements, monthly operating reports, first-day motions, pleadings, and proposed orders.
• Support attorneys in developing reorganization strategies, conducting substantive legal research, and analyzing proofs of claim, executory contracts, and creditor matrices.
• Serve as a primary point of contact for clients, the Court, the U.S. Trustee, creditors, and opposing counsel, ensuring timely and professional communication.
• Maintain current knowledge of developments in bankruptcy law, court procedures, and CM/ECF electronic filing requirements.
• Monitor and calendar all filing deadlines, hearing dates, and statutory bar dates to ensure strict compliance with the Bankruptcy Code and applicable Local Rules.
• Direct and mentor support staff, promoting efficient case management and a collaborative team environment.

Qualifications

• Paralegal degree is preferred but not required depending on experience.
• Five (5) years of direct experience managing chapter 7, 11, and 13 bankruptcy cases.
• Excellent written communication and strategic thinking skills.
• Experience in handling complex bankruptcy cases.
• Ability to work well under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
• Strong ethical standards and professional integrity.
• Ability to work independently as well as part of a legal team.
• Excellent research, writing and analytical skills
• Knowledge of Bankruptcy Code, Bankruptcy Rules, State and Federal court procedures.
