Legal Assistant/Paralegal--Litigation

A plaintiff-side personal injury law firm located in Century City, California, seeks a part-time Litigation Assistant/Paralegal to support active California litigation matters from filing through trial preparation.

This position is well suited for a dependable and detail-oriented candidate who can support litigation deadlines, maintain organized case files, and produce accurate work with appropriate attorney supervision.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, format, file, and serve pleadings, routine notices, motions, discovery documents, and other litigation materials
• Assist with written discovery, including preparing initial drafts, organizing client responses, and assembling document productions using Briefpoint software
• Coordinate depositions, defense medical examinations, mediations, and expert appointments
• Maintain accurate litigation calendars and monitor court, discovery, deposition, mediation, and expert deadlines
• Organize exhibits, deposition materials, and trial documents
• Request and track records, reports, transcripts, and other litigation-related materials
• Communicate professionally with clients, opposing counsel, experts, vendors, court personnel, and medical providers
• Maintain clear case notes and ensure litigation files remain complete, accurate, and current

Qualifications

• Prior plaintiff-side personal injury experience is preferred
• Experience with written discovery, deposition coordination, subpoenas, e-filing, litigation calendaring, or trial preparation is preferred
• Strong organizational, proofreading, formatting, and deadline-management skills
• Ability to work independently on routine assignments and follow through consistently
• Careful attention to procedural requirements and document accuracy
• Professional written and verbal communication skills
• Spanish fluency is a plus

Schedule and Location

This is a part-time position of approximately 15–25 hours per week, with the potential to grow into a full-time role as the firm’s caseload expands.

The position is primarily remote, although occasional in-person work may be required. Applicants located in the Los Angeles area are preferred. As the role and firm grow, the position may require more regular in-person work.

Compensation

$24-$30 per hour, depending on relevant litigation experience and demonstrated ability.
