Lab Technician - Part Time

Role Description

JOB DESCRIPTION

We are seeking a computer equipment room technician to help various tasks in the Harmonic San Jose LIFT computer lab. The is a Part-time position.

You will report to the Lab Manager.

Location

This position will be based in San Jose, CA

What You Will Be Doing

• Assist LIFT Lab team on equipment staging.
• Assist in Lab environment improvement such as Coax cables, Fiber optics, Cat 6 wiring.
• Prepare equipment for shipping.
• Assist in equipment inventory and accounting.
• Collaborate with remote team on equipment testing and configuration.
• Collaborate with LIFT onsite engineer on troubleshooting issues.

What You Should Have

• Ability to follow protocols and procedures accurately.
• Able to lift up to 35 lbs. with assistance of a team member.
• Comfortable working on their feet, bending and climbing up/down 4’ platform ladders.
• Basic computer equipment knowledge. With exposure to platforms such as Ubuntu and CLI access.
• Able to follow computer lab safety protocols and procedures.
• Flexibility and adaptability to work on multiple projects and tasks simultaneously.
• Experience in CATV Cable Modem Operations
• Experience in Racking equipment in 19" 45 RU Racks
• Experience in Optical configurations.

Pay & Benefits

For this role, the estimated base salary range is between $20-$22 per hour. The actual base salary will vary based on various factors, including market, location, and individual qualifications objectively assessed during the interview process.
