Summary of Position

Provide bookkeeping support to the Chicago USA Mission Center, including general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and data entry. This position also provides contribution data entry support for several mission center congregations using Shelby Systems accounting software, as well as minor bookkeeping support for the Rogers Hall property in Plano.

Essential Functions

• Maintains general ledger
• Processes accounts payable and receivable
• Processes contributions
• Receives, records, and deposits funds
• Provides reports to the Mission Center Financial Officer and Fund Board Chair
• Performs duties in alignment with approved internal controls
• Supports financial inspections
• Maintains proficiency with Shelby Systems

Required Competencies/Skills

• Thorough understanding of financial accounting principles
• Intermediate computer skills, including MS Office and the ability to learn new programs (including Shelby Systems)
• Strong organizational, verbal, and written communication skills
• Proficiency in email management and organization
• Ability to manage multiple people, projects, and priorities
• Proven ability to maintain confidentiality regarding sensitive information
• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work with both internal and external audiences
• Careful attention to detail
• Ability to work independently from home
• Ability to maintain regular, reliable work hours

Required Trainings

Registered Youth Worker/Anti-harassment Training: New employees are required to be a registered youth worker with Community of Christ or be able to register within 30 days of hire date. Anti-harassment training is also required within 30 days of hire and then required annually.
