Experienced Private Client Legal Secretary Required

A well-established and highly regarded law firm with offices in Liverpool and Heswall is looking to recruit an experienced Legal Secretary / Typist to join its busy Wills, Trusts & Estates department.

This is an excellent opportunity to become part of a friendly and supportive team, providing high-quality secretarial support to experienced Private Client solicitors.

The Role

Working within a busy Private Client department, your duties will include:

• Audio typing and digital dictation using BigHand
• Preparing Wills, Trust documents, Lasting Powers of Attorney and other legal documentation
• Daily use of the Proclaim case management system
• Diary management and arranging client appointments
• Opening and closing client files
• Handling telephone and email enquiries
• Liaising with clients, executors, beneficiaries and third parties
• General administrative and secretarial support
• Producing accurate legal documents and correspondence to a high standard

About the Department

The team advises individuals and families on a broad range of Private Client matters, including:

• Wills and estate planning
• Inheritance Tax planning
• Trust creation and administration
• Trusts for vulnerable and disabled beneficiaries
• Probate and estate administration
• Lasting Powers of Attorney
• Trustee advice and ongoing Trust management

About You

To be successful, you will have

• Previous experience as a Legal Secretary or Legal Typist within a Private Client, Wills, Trusts & Estates department
• Essential experience using BigHand
• Essential experience using Proclaim
• Excellent audio typing and document production skills
• Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage a busy workload
• Exceptional attention to detail
• A professional and empathetic approach to client care
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
