About Speakeasy Tapas Lounge

Speakeasy Tapas Lounge is an hospitality-driven restaurant and live music venue in the heart of Ottawa's ByWard Market. Every night is different. From intimate date nights and live jazz to sold-out concerts, cocktail receptions, weddings, corporate events, and private celebrations, we create memorable experiences through exceptional hospitality.

We're looking for an experienced bartender who can thrive in that environment. Someone who moves with urgency, stays calm under pressure, genuinely enjoys people, and takes pride in delivering outstanding cocktails and service.

If you're the bartender everyone wants behind the bar on the busiest night of the week, we'd like to meet you.

The Role

This is more than making drinks. You'll be responsible for creating an exceptional guest experience while maintaining speed, consistency, and professionalism during high-volume service.

You'll work alongside an experienced team serving restaurant guests, live music audiences, cocktail parties, weddings, corporate functions, and private events.

What You'll Do

Craft exceptional classic and signature cocktails with consistency and precision

Deliver fast, efficient service without sacrificing quality

Engage guests with genuine hospitality and create memorable interactions

Maintain complete control of the bar during high-volume service

Stay organized, clean, and fully stocked throughout every shift

Work seamlessly with servers, hosts, kitchen staff, and management

Assist with opening, closing, inventory, and bar preparation

Maintain exceptional product knowledge of spirits, wine, beer, cocktails, and our menu

Follow Smart Serve, food safety, and responsible alcohol service standards

Support and mentor newer team members while leading by example

We're Looking For Someone Who

Has at least three years of bartending experience in a busy restaurant, cocktail bar, or hospitality venue

Moves quickly and confidently behind the bar while remaining calm under pressure

Has strong cocktail knowledge and takes pride in quality and consistency

Enjoys interacting with guests and creating a welcoming atmosphere

Can multitask effortlessly during busy dinner services and large events

Works well as part of a team and communicates effectively

Has a positive attitude and takes ownership of their station

Is reliable, professional, and thrives in a fast-paced environment
