For over 30 years, Elgin Street Diner has been one of Ottawa’s favourite late-night destinations. Famous for our all-day breakfast, burgers, poutine, club sandwiches, and legendary milkshakes, we’ve proudly earned Ottawa’s Best Late Night Food award for many years.

Unlike most restaurants, we don’t serve alcohol. Instead, we’re known for serving some of the best milkshakes in the city while providing fast, friendly service to guests around the clock.

We’re looking for a dependable, energetic team member to join our overnight crew.

Shift

• Overnight (11:00 PM – 7:00 AM)
• Weekend and holiday availability is an asset
• Part-time with the opportunity for additional hours

What You’ll Do

As an Overnight Bartender/Busser, you’ll be responsible for keeping the restaurant running smoothly throughout the night.

Responsibilities include

• Preparing beverages including milkshakes, coffee, soft drinks, juices, and specialty drinks
• Packaging takeout and delivery orders accurately
• Greeting and seating guests
• Bussing, cleaning, and resetting tables
• Restocking bar and service stations
• Assisting servers during busy periods
• Maintaining cleanliness throughout the dining room and service areas
• Completing overnight cleaning and side duties
• Providing friendly, professional customer service
• Helping create a clean, organized, and welcoming environment for both guests and coworkers

We’re Looking For Someone Who Is

• Reliable and punctual
• Comfortable working overnight hours (11 PM–7 AM)
• Able to stay organized in a fast-paced environment
• Friendly, positive, and professional
• Comfortable multitasking while maintaining attention to detail
• A team player who is willing to jump in wherever needed
• Able to lift up to 30 lbs and remain on your feet for extended periods

Qualifications

• Previous restaurant or customer service experience is preferred
• Cash handling experience is an asset
• Basic food safety knowledge
• Experience using a POS system is an asset
• Strong communication skills
• Legally entitled to work in Canada
