Role Description The Purchasing Assistant is a full-time, on-site role based in Ottawa, ON. This position supports the purchasing and procurement functions by preparing and processing purchase orders, tracking deliveries, and maintaining accurate records of materials and supplies.

The role includes daily communication with suppliers, internal teams, and logistics partners to ensure timely and cost-effective sourcing of stone and related products. The Purchasing Assistant will monitor inventory levels, assist with vendor evaluations, resolve discrepancies in orders or invoices, and contribute to continuous improvement of purchasing processes.

Qualifications

• Strong understanding of purchasing processes and procedures, including basic knowledge of procurement best practices.
• Experience creating, reviewing, and managing purchase orders and related documentation.
• Hands-on purchasing or procurement experience in a manufacturing, construction, or home renovation environment is an asset.
• Clear and professional communication skills for working with vendors, internal stakeholders, and logistics partners.
• Attention to detail, accuracy in data entry, and ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
• Proficiency with standard office software (e.g., MS Office) and familiarity with ERP or inventory management systems is beneficial.
• Strong organizational and problem-solving abilities, with a focus on reliability and teamwork in an on-site setting.
• Relevant post-secondary education in business, supply chain, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
