Feature Analyst / Business Analyst (Cross-Border Payments/Banking)

Introduction

Financial Services company based in Johannesburg is looking for an experienced Feature Analyst / Business Analyst with strong cross-border payments knowledge to join a leading banking environment. This role will work closely with product owners, business stakeholders, and technology teams to translate business requirements into well-defined features that support international payment capabilities.

9-month Contract with possibility to renew.

Duties & Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities

• Analyse and document business requirements related to cross-border and international payment processes.
• Translate requirements into clear functional specifications, user stories, and acceptance criteria.
• Collaborate with product owners, architects, and development teams to deliver payment features.
• Ensure solutions comply with regulatory, compliance, and banking standards related to international payments.
• Participate in solution design, testing, and implementation support.
• Identify opportunities to improve payment workflows, efficiency, and customer experience.

Desired Experience & Qualification

Requirements

• 5+ years’ experience as a Business Analyst / Feature Analyst within banking or financial services.
• Strong experience with cross-border payments, SWIFT, international transfers, or correspondent banking.
• Experience working in Agile delivery environments.
• Strong skills in requirements gathering, process analysis, and documentation.
• Ability to work with technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Preferred

• Exposure to SWIFT messaging (MT / ISO 20022).
• Experience working on payment platforms or core banking systems.
