About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Mid/Senior React UI Developer to join a growing engineering team responsible for building modern, enterprise-scale web applications. Working within a collaborative Agile environment, you'll play a key role in designing and developing high-quality user interfaces, contributing to front-end architecture and helping deliver scalable, responsive applications that support thousands of users.

You'll work closely with Product Owners, UX Designers, QA Engineers and Back-End Developers to build intuitive solutions while contributing to technical discussions and mentoring more junior developers. This role offers the opportunity to influence technical direction, work with a modern technology stack and contribute to a growing engineering function within a stable, international organisation.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop and enhance modern React applications using industry best practices.
• Build reusable, scalable and maintainable front-end components.
• Develop responsive and accessible user interfaces that deliver an excellent user experience.
• Collaborate with Product Owners and UX teams to transform business requirements into technical solutions.
• Integrate front-end applications with RESTful APIs and backend services.
• Participate in architectural discussions and help shape front-end standards.
• Produce clean, well-tested and maintainable code.
• Contribute to automated testing and continuous integration processes.
• Take part in Agile ceremonies including sprint planning, stand-ups and retrospectives.
• Perform peer code reviews and share knowledge across the development team.
• Support and mentor junior developers where appropriate.

Essential Skills & Experience

• Strong commercial experience with React (7+ years in production environments), including React 19 patterns
• Deep understanding of modern JavaScript/TypeScript, including ES6+ features, async patterns, and module systems
• Experience with TanStack Query (or similar data-fetching/state management libraries) and understanding of server state vs client state
• Proficiency in CSS-in-JS approaches (e.g. Emotion, styled-components), responsive design, and cross-browser compatibility
• Comfortable with modern front-end tooling: Vite, pnpm, ESLint, Prettier, or equivalent
• Experience with front-end testing frameworks (e.g. Jest, React Testing Library, Cypress)
• Familiarity with RESTful API integration and working with back-end teams to define contracts
• Comfortable with Git, pull request workflows, and CI/CD pipelines (Azure DevOps preferred)
• Experience working in agile/Scrum environments
• Strong communication skills and the ability to explain technical decisions clearly

Desirable Skills

• Exposure to Microsoft Azure and Azure DevOps.
• Experience working alongside .NET/C# development teams.
• Knowledge of localisation and internationalisation frameworks.
• Understanding of accessibility standards (WCAG).
• Experience with application performance optimisation.
• Familiarity with Redux or legacy React state management.
• Interest in AI-enabled software products and modern cloud technologies.
• Previous mentoring or technical leadership experience.
