Job Description

As the Senior Compliance Manager: Export Control, you will play a pivotal role in safeguarding our client’s global operations. You will lead the implementation and operationalization of a comprehensive Partner and Trade Compliance framework, ensuring that both our client and their key global business partners operate in strict accordance with international standards.

Responsibilities

• Framework Implementation: Lead the development, roll-out, and operationalization of an effective global Partner and Trade Compliance (PTC) framework across international subsidiaries and business units.
• Second-Line Assurance: Provide robust second-line risk and compliance assurance for key global business entities, supply chain operations, and major corporate projects.
• Subject Matter Expertise: Act as the primary advisor on complex regulatory areas, including international sanctions, embargoes, and global export controls (with a strong emphasis on US export control regulations).
• Partner Compliance Assessments: Manage and execute comprehensive compliance assessments of key business partners, technology vendors, and hyperscale's to evaluate the adequacy of their compliance programs.
• Compliance Mapping & Monitoring: Maintain a dynamic "Compliance Universe," mapping risk-based external regulatory requirements against internal operations, and design effective testing and monitoring procedures.
• Questionnaire Management: Oversee the end-to-end process for incoming and outgoing business partner compliance questionnaires covering key subject areas such as anti-bribery, conflicts of interest, data privacy, and ESG.
• Training & Awareness: Design, update, and deliver engaging compliance training programs and awareness campaigns for diverse teams across multiple geographic regions.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner closely with internal stakeholders across Global Legal, Sourcing, Supply Chain, and regional management teams to align compliance initiatives with broader business strategies.

Requirements

Must-Haves

• Education: Minimum of a 4-year academic degree in Law, Risk Management, Business, or a related field.
• Experience: Minimum of 5 years of specialized experience in risk, compliance, or legal roles, with at least 3 years of dedicated experience in international trade compliance, global sanctions, and export controls.
• Regulatory Expertise: Deep, practical understanding of US export control regulations, international sanctions, and global technology export controls.
• Industry Background: Experience working within a medium-to-large multinational organization, specifically within a technology, IT, or telecommunications environment.
• Global Exposure: Proven track record of handling complex international regulatory matters and working with global technology partners.
• Language: Full professional fluency in English with exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
• Travel: Willingness and ability to undertake significant international travel.

• Advanced Qualifications: Postgraduate degree (MBA, CA, Masters, or PhD) is highly advantageous.
• Professional Credentials: Admitted attorney, advocate, or certified auditor.
