Senior FP&A Analyst - Cape Town - 12 Month contract

Introduction

Senior FP&A Analyst on a 12-month contract to support financial planning, forecasting, reporting and business performance analysis. The role partners with business leaders to provide financial insights that support operational and strategic decision-making, improve profitability, and enhance business performance.

Responsibilities include budgeting, forecasting, financial modelling, variance analysis, management reporting, business case evaluation, and performance reviews, while contributing to continuous improvement across planning and reporting processes.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Support annual budgeting, monthly forecasting, and performance reporting.
• Prepare management reports and analyse financial and operational performance.
• Conduct variance and root cause analysis to identify risks and opportunities.
• Partner with stakeholders to improve profitability, cost management, and cash generation.
• Develop financial models and assess business cases, investments, and commercial initiatives.
• Conduct post-investment reviews and evaluate project performance.
• Analyse customer, product, channel, and value chain profitability.
• Provide financial analysis and insights to support business decisions.
• Prepare presentations and reports for leadership.
• Drive improvements to planning, forecasting, reporting, and data governance processes.
• Provide ad hoc financial analysis aligned to business priorities.

Desired Experience & Qualification

• CA(SA) or CIMA qualification.
• Bachelor's degree or National Diploma in Commerce, Accounting, Finance or Business Administration.
• Minimum 3 years' experience in FP&A, financial analysis, management reporting or a similar finance role.
• Experience with budgeting, forecasting, financial modelling and business partnering.
• Experience within the oil & gas industry preferred.
• Experience in mining, manufacturing, FMCG, agriculture or supply chain environments will be advantageous.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint skills.
• Experience with SAP, SAP Analytics Cloud (SAC) and Power BI will be advantageous.
• Strong financial analysis, reporting and commercial acumen.
• Experience working with large datasets and complex business environments.
