Role Description This full-time Information Technology Field Technician role is a hybrid position based in Cape Town, with a mix of on-site client visits and remote support tasks. The technician will perform day-to-day support, including installing, configuring, and maintaining desktop computers, printers, and related peripherals.

Responsibilities include diagnosing and troubleshooting hardware and software issues, performing computer repairs, and escalating complex problems when necessary. The role also involves documenting work performed, maintaining accurate records of service requests, and communicating clearly with clients about solutions and best practices.

The technician will collaborate with the broader IT team to ensure consistent service quality and adherence to company standards.

Qualifications

• Strong Technical Support skills, including user assistance and incident resolution in field and remote environments.
• Hands-on experience with Desktop Computers, including installation, configuration, and basic network connectivity.
• Printer Support capabilities, covering setup, maintenance, and troubleshooting of common printer issues.
• Proficient Troubleshooting and Computer Repair skills for hardware, operating systems, and standard business applications.
• Relevant IT qualification or certification (e.g., A+, N+, or equivalent) preferred.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to travel to client sites in and around Cape Town.
• Strong communication skills, customer service orientation, and ability to work independently and in a team.
• Familiarity with ticketing systems and basic networking concepts (TCP/IP, Wi-Fi, routers, switches) is advantageous.
• Proficient in English and Afrikaans
