Kendrick Recruitment is searching for a polished, guest-focused and operationally strong Duty Manager for one of Cape Town's most celebrated & award-wining luxury hotels - nestled in the heart of the historic Constantia Valley, just 15 minutes from Cape Town's city centre.

This is a role for a confident, well-presented hospitality professional who leads by example, communicates with grace and takes genuine personal responsibility for every guest interaction and team member they encounter.

Please note: Candidates must be based in Cape Town. This is a live-out, shift-based position.

Minimum Requirements

• Post-matric hotel school qualification - essential
• Minimum 3 years' experience in a 5-star hotel or similar luxury environment - essential
• Proficient in Opera Cloud PMS - essential
• Previous experience in a leadership or supervisory role advantageous
• Excellent English communication skills - written and verbal
• Highly trustworthy and comfortable handling hotel and guest monies
• Ability to plan, implement and lead strategic operational initiatives
• Experience training and developing a hospitality team
• Computer literate with solid administrative ability
• Own transport preferable
• Motivated, enthusiastic and energetic with a positive team attitude
• Able to work shifts and perform well under pressure
• Stable work history with contactable references

Key Responsibilities

🏨 Operations & Standards

• Manage and oversee daily hotel operations to the highest luxury standards
• Conduct regular property inspections and ensure all areas are presented immaculately
• Liaise effectively between all departments to ensure seamless daily operations
• Assist with daily F&B operations during meal service periods

🌟 Guest Experience

• Communicate proactively with all guests on property throughout every shift
• Handle and resolve guest queries, complaints and special requests with professionalism and care
• Manage guest comment responses with accuracy and brand-appropriate tone
• Ensure comprehensive knowledge of all room categories, property layout and hotel offerings
• Process restaurant bookings and hotel reservations efficiently

💳 Front Office

• Operate Opera Cloud PMS competently
• Manage guest check-ins and check-outs professionally
• Operate the hotel switchboard and direct calls accordingly
• Assist with guest account management and billing accuracy

👥 Leadership & Team

• Provide effective, motivational leadership across all subordinates during shifts
• Maintain and uphold required operating and service standards at all times
• Support the ongoing training and development of team members
• Handle all email enquiries professionally and within an appropriate timeframe

Package

• Gross Salary: R20,000 to R23,000 per month (DOE)
• Live-out position
