HR Coordinator Job Description
Location: North Richland Hills, TX (Onsite, 5 days/week)
Pay: $21.00 - $24.00 per hour (DOE)
About the Role
The HR Coordinator serves as the central point of coordination for employee lifecycle administration, HR operations, employee experience initiatives, and company culture programs.
This role is responsible for ensuring a seamless experience from onboarding through offboarding while maintaining accurate employee records, supporting HR processes, organizing employee engagement activities, and assisting employees with routine HR-related questions.
The HR Coordinator works closely with employees, managers, payroll, benefits providers, and external vendors to ensure HR programs are administered accurately and efficiently. This position plays a critical role in supporting company culture, employee recognition, internal communications, and organization-wide events.
Success in this role requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, excellent customer service, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
What You'll Be Doing
Employee Lifecycle Administration
- Coordinate and oversee onboarding, status change, and offboarding processes to ensure timely completion by all internal and external stakeholders
- Facilitate new hire onboarding activities, including preparation of onboarding documentation and HRIS setup
- Conduct new hire orientation presentations and serve as a resource for newly hired employees
- Manage pre-employment processes, including background screenings, employment verifications, and onboarding requirements
- Process employee status changes including transfers, promotions, compensation changes, leaves of absence, and other employment transactions
- Directly execute staff personnel changes and maintain supporting documentation
- Coordinate termination processing and related documentation
- Maintain employee personnel files and ensure compliance with company recordkeeping standards
- Administer file retention processes and support HR record audits
- Partner with HR leadership to continuously improve onboarding and offboarding workflows for consistency and efficiency
HR Operations & Employee Support
- Serve as a first point of contact for employee questions regarding HR policies, procedures, benefits, and employment-related matters
- Escalate sensitive or complex employee concerns to the appropriate HR team member
- Complete employment verification requests and related documentation
- Assist employees with benefits enrollment questions, benefit verification requests, and vendor coordination
- Maintain employee information within HRIS and related databases to ensure data accuracy
- Monitor PTO balances and coordinate employee and manager reminders as needed
- Support HR projects, reporting requests, and administrative initiatives
- Maintain strict confidentiality of employee information and company records
Employee Engagement & Recognition
- Coordinate and administer employee recognition programs that celebrate employee achievements and contributions
- Organize employee appreciation initiatives, milestone celebrations, birthdays, work anniversaries, and recognition events
- Support programs that promote employee engagement, retention, and company culture
- Assist in developing creative recognition strategies that align with organizational values
- Track participation and effectiveness of employee engagement initiatives
Internal Communications
- Maintain company intranet content and internal communication platforms
- Assist with drafting and distributing company announcements, newsletters, and employee communications
- Coordinate communication efforts related to HR programs, employee initiatives, and cultural events
- Partner with leadership and internal stakeholders to support organizational communication strategies
- Ensure employees receive timely and accurate information regarding company programs and initiatives
Event Planning & Community Involvement
- Plan and execute company-wide events, meetings, celebrations, and employee engagement activities
- Coordinate event logistics including venue selection, vendor management, catering, entertainment, and scheduling
- Manage event budgets and monitor event-related expenses
- Establish and maintain positive relationships with vendors and service providers
- Coordinate volunteer opportunities and community outreach initiatives
- Support company-sponsored charitable and community engagement programs
Additional Responsibilities
- Assist with special projects and departmental initiatives as assigned
- Recommend process improvements that enhance efficiency and employee experience
- Support cross-functional collaboration between HR, Operations, Safety, Payroll, and leadership teams
- Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications
Required
- High school diploma or GED required; Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Communications, or related field preferred
- 2+ years of administrative, HR, office coordination, employee engagement, or related experience
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Customer service mindset with a passion for supporting employees
- Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining attention to detail
- Project management skills, specifically event coordination
- Strong problem-solving and follow-through skills
- Ability to handle confidential and sensitive information with professionalism and discretion
- Knowledge of employment law and compliance requirements
- Proficiency with Microsoft 365 (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Teams)
- Experience working with HRIS platforms and employee record management preferred
- Some travel required, based on business need
- Valid driver’s license
Preferred
- Bilingual English/Spanish preferred but not required
- HR certification (SHRM-CP, PHR, or equivalent) is a plus

Compensation & Benefits
