BINGO is looking for a hands-on Data Analyst to join our Transformation Team. This is a technical role primarily focused on SQL and Power BI, with Excel used regularly for data cleaning, reconciliation and ad hoc analysis.
You will work with operational, commercial and financial data to develop reliable datasets, reporting and insights that support decision-making across the business.SQL is an essential, day-to-day part of the role. You should be comfortable writing your own queries, working with raw or imperfect data, investigating unexpected results and validating your work before it is shared.
You will take ownership of your work from initial requirement through to testing and delivery, with support from an experienced data team.
What You Will Do
- Write, troubleshoot and maintain SQL queries in Snowflake to extract, join, transform, aggregate and validate data.
- Clean, standardise and maintain master, transactional and reporting datasets used across the business.
- Develop and maintain reporting datasets, business logic and Power BI data models.
- Build Power BI reports, dashboards and DAX measures that provide meaningful insights and support operational and commercial decisions.
- Analyse business performance, identify trends and anomalies, and communicate findings clearly to stakeholders.
- Use Excel to clean, reconcile, model and analyse data for internal stakeholders and business units.
- Investigate data-quality issues, including duplicated records, missing data, inconsistent values and totals that do not reconcile.
- Work with stakeholders to understand business requirements and translate them into reliable, repeatable analytical solutions.
- Validate outputs against source data, document key definitions and assumptions, and identify opportunities to improve existing data and reporting processes.
- What makes you a GOgetter
- Essential Experience Two or more years of professional experience in a Data Analyst, BI Analyst, Reporting Analyst or similar role, or equivalent demonstrated technical capability.
- Regular hands-on experience writing and troubleshooting your own SQL queries, rather than only running or lightly modifying prewritten queries.
- Practical SQL skills including joins, aggregations, CASE expressions and CTEs, together with an understanding of dataset grain and table relationships.
- Strong Excel skills, including pivot tables, XLOOKUP or INDEX/MATCH, SUMIFS, COUNTIFS, logical formulas, and text and date manipulation.
- Experience using Excel to clean, reconcile and analyse raw data, rather than only formatting completed reports.
- Experience developing Power BI reports, including data relationships, data models and DAX measures.
- A demonstrated ability to investigate unexpected results, reconcile outputs against source data and explain your analytical approach clearly.
- Strong ownership, attention to detail and the ability to manage competing priorities while working effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Desirable Experience Snowflake or another cloud data warehouse.
- Power Query, Power BI Service, dbt or version control tools such as Git.
- SQL window functions and more complex data transformations.
