We are seeking an experienced Data Analyst to join the Business Insights and Analytics team at the Faculty of Medicine and Health, The University of Sydney, to support delivery of value-adding business insights for its strategic projects and initiatives.
You will deliver actionable and impactful insights utilising analytics, statistical methods, data visualisation techniques, and AI tools to support strategic and operational planning and decision-making, aimed at achieving our aspiration to make and shape the future of healthcare.
The Faculty of Medicine and Health at The University of Sydney is one of the largest and most comprehensive medicine and health faculties in Australia, encompassing diverse areas such as dentistry, clinical medicine, health sciences, medical sciences, nursing and midwifery, pharmacy, and public health, and continuously being ranked number one in Australia and among the top 20 globally across multiple academic fields.

You are an experienced Data Analyst who has: a bachelor's degree in relevant field and a minimum of 3 years of relevant work experience.a strong analytical capability and can apply knowledge of best practice principles to data preparation and ETL processes, analysis, visualisation, insights provision.extensive experience and high proficiency in utilising analytical tools and programming languages such as SQL, Python, R, or similar, and experience working with large datasets and relational databases.advanced Excel skills, including extensive experience in data cleansing, transformation, validation, consolidation, and automation using complex formulas, Power Query, macros, Office Scripts, Power Automate, Python or similar tools to streamline processes and reduce manual effort.data visualisation experience, developing insightful dashboards utilising MS Power-BI (incl.
DAX measures), adopting data security, privacy, and role-based access control (RLS) principles.high level of accuracy and attention to detail and the ability to produce work of a consistently high standard within tight timeframes.excellent time and workload management skills, including demonstrated ability to determine multiple priorities, and work under pressure to meet deadlines and achieve team goals.demonstrated ability to exercise discretion and judgement when assessing and dealing with confidential matters or data.
