Junior Trust Accountant

Responsibilities

Administration support work

• Assist with Business Development initiatives.
• Work with BD team and Client Services team to on-board new clients in compliance with internal procedures
• Data management activities – including CRM and daily client data trust administration
• Maintain accurate and updated trust records
• Any reasonable ad-hoc tasks as required by the head of department

Accounting work

• Handle and maintain accurate records of trust account balances and activity supported by relevant documentation
• Monitor trust account transactions and ensure compliance with legal and regulatory requirements
• Assist with preparation of trust account tax returns
• Prepare regular financial statements and reports
• Assist with client trust account setup and maintenance
• Provide accounting support to the department on distributions, payments from and receipts into trusts and/or underlying companies
• Adhere to Company core values and expected behaviours

Skills Required

• Diploma or bachelor’s in accounting, finance, or a related field
• At least 1 year of experience in trust accounting or the financial services industry
• Working knowledge of trust accounting principles and regulations
• Experience with trust accounting software and financial reporting tools is a plus
• Proven ability to maintain confidentiality and trust with clients
• Strong attention to details
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work independently with guidance
• Meticulous and discreet in handling confidential information
• Able to articulate well
• Able to work well with both internal and external stakeholders
• Attention to detail is essential
• Familiar with current trend of IT applications
• Fluent in written and spoken English and Mandarin to liaise with Chinese clients
