BDM - Venture Capital

If you have experience in VC, private equity, investment banking, consulting, or a startup leadership role, we have an we have an incredible opportunity.

This is a partnerships and business development role at the centre of our client's venture capital and startup ecosystem strategy. You will own relationships with a portfolio of leading venture capital firms, drive adoption of the client's platform across their portfolio companies, and shape go to market strategy for the wider startup segment.

You will work closely with regional sales leadership and cross functional teams to deliver outcomes for both VC partners and startup customers.

Responsibilities

• Lead partnerships efforts across a designated portfolio of leading venture capital firms
• Build the ecosystem strategy for the region alongside sales leadership and internal stakeholders
• Position the startup program, drive adoption, and grow consumption across the portfolio
• Build and expand senior relationships within assigned VC firms, converting them into long term partnership agreements
• Drive value creation for portfolio companies through adoption of the client's products and services, working across internal functions to meet their needs
• This role suits someone who is fundamentally a business development or partnerships operator, not a product or technical specialist.
• Candidates must:
• Be connected to the startup ecosystem.
• Either you have founded something yourself, invested in startups, worked inside a VC firm, or spent years selling into startups and scaleups.
• You have operated inside a large enterprise organisation.
• You know how to navigate internal stakeholders, cross functional teams, and long sales or partnership cycles.
• You are comfortable at C level.
• You can hold a strategic conversation with a founder or CTO and translate it into a commercial partnership.
• Around eight to ten years of experience in business development, partnerships, or quota carrying sales, with a track record of building senior relationships
• Time spent in VC, private equity, investment banking, consulting, or a startup leadership seat is highly regarded
• Prior experience in cloud or SaaS is useful but not essential if the ecosystem experience is strong
