Position Overview

Our client is a well-established, Dallas-based company that has been in business for more than 40 years and is continuing to expand. They are seeking a dependable and detail-oriented Bilingual Bookkeeper or Staff Accountant to support the company's day-to-day accounting and financial operations.

This position will initially focus on payroll, invoicing, collections, account reconciliation, and general bookkeeping responsibilities. The role is expected to begin on a temporary-to-hire basis and will likely be structured as part-time.

However, the company is open to considering candidates seeking full-time employment and may expand the position's responsibilities based on the selected individual's experience, capabilities, and availability.

The ideal candidate will be organized, trustworthy, accurate, and comfortable communicating in both English and Spanish. This individual should be able to manage confidential financial information, communicate professionally with employees and customers, and take ownership of routine accounting processes.

This individual will identify discrepancies, follow through on outstanding issues, and maintain accurate records with limited supervision.

Key Responsibilities

• Process payroll accurately and within established deadlines.
• Prepare and distribute customer invoices.
• Monitor outstanding accounts receivable balances and follow up on past-due accounts.
• Communicate professionally with customers regarding invoices, payments, and account questions.
• Record payments and maintain accurate customer account information.
• Assist with accounts payable and vendor invoice processing, as needed.
• Reconcile bank accounts, credit cards, payroll records, and general ledger accounts.
• Maintain organized and accurate financial records.
• Enter financial transactions into the company's accounting system.
• Assist with month-end closing activities and financial reporting.
• Research and resolve billing, payroll, and account discrepancies.
• Prepare spreadsheets, reports, and supporting documentation for leadership.
• Communicate with employees, customers, and vendors in both English and Spanish.
• Support additional accounting, administrative, and operational projects as the position expands.

Qualifications

• Fluency in both English and Spanish is required.
• Previous experience as a bookkeeper, staff accountant, accounting specialist, or similar accounting professional.
• Hands-on experience processing payroll, preparing invoices, and managing collections.
• Working knowledge of accounts receivable, accounts payable, reconciliations, and general bookkeeping practices.
• Proficiency with QuickBooks Online is required.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
• Ability to handle confidential employee, payroll, customer, and financial information appropriately.
• Strong organizational and time-management skills.
• Professional written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with company leadership and other team members.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and standard business software.
• An associate or bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, business, or a related field is preferred but not required based on experience.

Our client is also open to considering candidates who are seeking full-time employment and can take on additional accounting, financial, administrative, or operational responsibilities.

The amount of required in-office work will depend on the final schedule and scope of the position. Candidates working closer to a full-time schedule should expect the role to be primarily or fully on-site.
