Business Development Manager

About the Company

Our client is a well-established New Zealand manufacturer of building and interior products, backed by decades of brand trust and a broad national footprint. The business is entering an exciting growth phase and is looking to strengthen its presence across key trade and specification channels.

The Role

This newly created Business Development Manager role will drive new business growth across Auckland and Northland, building relationships with builders, architects, developers and designers. You’ll open doors with key target accounts and play a hands-on role in shaping the territory as the business continues to grow.

Key Responsibilities

• Build and grow a pipeline of new customers across group home builders, retirement developments and commercial builders
• Develop strong relationships with architects, designers and specifiers to build product preference
• Represent the business across trade and specification channels
• Manage a portfolio spanning the existing product range plus new product development
• Work closely with internal trade and specification teams to align on account strategy
• Maintain accurate pipeline and account management using SalesforceShare sales best practice and support capability across the wider team
• Establish credibility and reputation quickly in a competitive market
• Key Skills & Experience

Required

Proven B2B, business development background.

Building products, construction or related trade exposure advantageous but not essential.

Strong technical sales ability, comfortable talking product detail with a broad stakeholder groupComfortable operating in a genuinely greenfield, evolving environmentConfident building relationships from the ground up with senior external stakeholders.

Commercially sharp, resilient and adaptable to changeDigitally savvy with strong CRM discipline; Salesforce experience an advantage.

Personable with a natural ability to build rapport internally and externally.
