Tax Accountant (Law Firm Experience Preferred)

Position: Tax Accountant

Location: Downtown Los Angeles, CA (Hybrid, 1 day per week onsite January through tax season; and then 2x per month)

Pay: $87,000 to $97,000 annually

Experience: 3+ years of accounting/tax work experience (law firm preferred) to assist in review and analysis on various tax projects, which will include financial reporting and tax reporting/audits for domestic and international offices.

Education: Bachelor's degree in accounting is required.

Type: Full-time; Direct Hire

Schedule: Monday – Friday, 9:00am to 5:00pm

Kent Daniels & Associates is seeking a Tax Accountant to join our dynamic law firm client!

Job Description

• Review state composite returns and withholding returns.
• Review partnership tax returns and related Schedule K-1 and K-3.
• Review intercompany reporting among different entities and offices to ensure that all foreign and federal requirements and guidelines are met.
• Prepare sales and use tax returns, business personal property tax returns, and gross receipts tax returns prior to submission.
• Gather data needed for transfer pricing reporting requirements for U.S. and international offices.
• Assistance in preparation of projected state apportionment ratios for state tax planning purposes.
• Assistance in reconciliation of tax GL accounts.
• Assist with initial review of work product by entry-level tax staff.
• Ad hoc analysis and special projects.

Position Requirements

• Proficiency with MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and excellent communication skills required.
• International accounting/tax experience and knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles and partnership tax filing requirements are required.
• Prior law firm tax experience a plus.
