Technical Infrastructure Project Manager

Duration: July/August 2026 – December 2027 (18 months)Extension: Option for additional 6-month extension to support refurbishment and repurposing of legacy facilities.

Role Overview

Our client is seeking a Technical Infrastructure Project Manager to support on site delivery and assist with planning, coordination, and execution of technology workstreams associated with the Cork, Ireland Research and Development facility expansion.

This role provides an on site check sum across network, security, wireless, structured cabling, and audio-visual technologies, ensuring the delivery of a fully operational, technology-enabled facility, working with trades to ensure compliance and accuracy in accordance with the design and construction documents.

The position operates across all phases of the project lifecycle, including planning, design, construction, deployment, commissioning, and operational readiness.

Core ObjectiveEnsures compliance and provides onsite leadership and technical oversight for all IT and infrastructure components supporting the Cork R&D expansion, acting as the on the spot coordination point across business, facilities, engineering, construction, and IT stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

• Compliance and Site Leadership
• Lead execution across the full project lifecycle.
• Establish reporting cadences, and communication plans.
• Coordinate cross-functional activities as needed technical teams and vendors.
• Participate in status meetings, executive briefings, and steering committee discussions.
• Develop and maintain integrated project schedules using enterprise planning tools.
• Manage risks, issues, dependencies, and mitigation plans and support conflict resolution between trades.
• Support escalation management and decision-making processes.
• Technology Infrastructure Oversight
• Provide oversight and coordination for the deployment and integration of enterprise infrastructure including network, security, and collaboration platforms.
• Scope includes enterprise networking, wireless infrastructure, WAN connectivity, structured cabling, MDF and IDF environments, monitoring platforms, and integrated security systems.
• Scope also includes security infrastructure such as firewalls, segmentation, secure access, and alignment with enterprise security architecture.
• Audio-visual and collaboration scope includes conference room technology, digital signage, executive briefing spaces, and R&D collaboration environments.
• Construction and Facilities Technology Coordination
• Serve as the site representative during construction planning and execution.
• Read and review architectural drawings, low-voltage designs, and technology specifications.
• Coordinate with facilities, construction teams, and installation partners to deliver infrastructure requirements.
• Ensure technology requirements are embedded into construction milestones and site readiness plans.
• Support site inspections, commissioning activities, and technology acceptance processes.
• Vendor and Delivery Coordination
• Track and coordinate activities across multiple technology providers and delivery teams.
• Manage deliverables, schedules, dependencies, and resource alignment.
• Facilitate technical discussions between delivery teams and internal stakeholders.
• Ensure execution alignment with project timelines and business requirements and escalate issues.
• Financial Management
• Support budgeting, forecasting, and financial tracking for technology scope.
• Monitor expenditures and provide financial performance updates as needed.
• Review estimates and change impacts as needed.
• Provide financial reporting to construction PM.Stakeholder Management and Communication
• Facilitate alignment across technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Ensure stakeholder alignment throughout the project lifecycle.
• Technical Team Coordination
• Coordinate multidisciplinary teams across network, security, infrastructure, AV, and facilities technology domains.
• Provide oversight and guidance without serving as the primary hands-on technical resource.

Qualifications

• Experience leading large-scale IT infrastructure programs, preferably new build and refits.
• Experience supporting construction projects, facility expansions, or technology build-outs.
• Working knowledge of enterprise networking and security technologies.
• Working familiarity with enterprise networking platforms, security solutions, and AV systems.
• Experience reviewing architectural and engineering documentation.
• Demonstrated experience managing cross functional vendors and system integrators.
• Proficiency in project planning tools.
