Client Accountant (Life & Health)

We are a leading global insurer seeking a Client Accountant to join our Finance team. This role is responsible for the full spectrum of technical accounting for our Life & Health reinsurance business and offers the opportunity to work with regional and international stakeholders in a dynamic, collaborative environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Review reinsurance cessions, claims, and statements of account to ensure compliance with contractual terms
• Monitor reinsurance cessions and ensure large transactions are accurately recorded in the reinsurance accounting system
• Record premiums, commissions, and claims accurately within the accounting system
• Respond to client enquiries relating to accounting matters and provide timely resolution
• Manage receivables to minimize overdue balances and maintain healthy client accounts
• Prepare statutory and regulatory reports and support internal and external audit requirements
• Identify opportunities to streamline and automate existing processes using Microsoft Excel and other analytical or programming tools
• Participate in regional and international initiatives and projects assigned

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Insurance, Statistics, Mathematics, or a related discipline
• 3–5 years of relevant experience in the insurance or reinsurance industry
• Good understanding of insurance and reinsurance accounting principles and practices
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills and experience handling large datasets
• Strong SQL or database querying skills are essential
• Experience with automation tools or programming languages (e.g. VBA, Python, Power Query) is an advantage
• Strong analytical, communication, and interpersonal skills
• Able to thrive in a fast-paced environment while delivering high-quality work
