We are seeking a top-tier Group Accountant with proven listed-group experience, outstanding technical expertise, and the ambition to play a pivotal role in shaping the future of a dynamic, acquisitive organisation.

Job Description

Could include but not limited to the following:

Group Financial Reporting & ConsolidationLead the preparation and review of monthly, interim and annual Group financial reporting.

Manage the consolidation of financial results across all subsidiaries.

Ensure compliance with IFRS, applicable financial reporting standards and regulatory requirements.

Oversee the preparation of reporting packs for the CFO, Board, Audit Committee and other key stakeholders.

Coordinate the roll-up of subsidiary information into Group reporting and external communications.

Listed Company Readiness & Stakeholder ReportingSupport the Group's ongoing JSE listing preparations and related reporting requirements.

Assist with the preparation of annual reports, interim results, market presentations, short-form and long-form announcements.

Liaise with auditors and external advisors to ensure timely and efficient completion of audits.

Ensure strong governance, internal controls and financial compliance frameworks across the Group.

Acquisitions & Strategic GrowthParticipate in acquisition evaluations, due diligence processes and integration activities.

Assist with the financial assessment and onboarding of bolt-on acquisitions.

Support post-acquisition reporting, integration and performance monitoring.

Provide financial insights and recommendations to support strategic decision-making.

Treasury & BankingManage Group treasury activities and cash flow optimisation.

Monitor foreign exchange exposures and foreign currency risk.

Maintain relationships with banking partners and financial institutions.

Prepare presentations and supporting information for banking facilities.

Monitor and calculate covenant requirements and ensure compliance with lending agreements.

Budgeting, Forecasting & Business PerformanceLead the annual budgeting and forecasting process.

Monitor actual performance against budget and forecast.

Prepare insightful financial commentary and performance analysis for the CFO.Identify trends, opportunities and risks across the Group.

Develop recommendations to improve profitability, efficiencies and shareholder value.

Leadership & Business PartneringProvide support and guidance to finance leaders across subsidiary businesses.

Act as a trusted advisor to operational and executive management teams.

Drive a culture of accountability, continuous improvement and excellence.

Mentor and develop finance staff where required.

Foster strong relationships across the business and with external stakeholdersSkills & Experience: Qualified CA(SA)Minimum 5 years' post-articles experience in a senior finance position.

Proven experience within a listed company or listed group environment.

Extensive experience preparing and reviewing Group consolidations.

Experience in manufacturing, import and distribution environments is highly advantageous.

Retail sector exposure would be beneficial.

Demonstrated experience supporting acquisitions, mergers and integration activities.

Experience preparing board packs, audit committee packs and executive reporting.

Strong treasury and banking experience, including covenant management and funding structuresQualification:CA(SA) non negotiableSalary:R1 400 000 - R1 800 000
