Account Executive - Higher Education Partnerships

HHM Talent is assisting a client in their search for an Account Executive in New York City.

Position Overview

Our client is hiring an Account Executive to own new business acquisition across higher education institutions. This is a full-cycle sales role responsible for managing opportunities from demo through signed contract while helping shape the company's go-to-market strategy as one of its first dedicated Account Executives.

The ideal candidate combines direct admissions or enrollment experience at a college or university with a proven track record of closing SaaS or technology partnerships.

Responsibilities

• Own the complete sales cycle from qualified opportunity through contract execution.
• Build relationships with admissions, enrollment, and recruitment leaders at colleges and universities.
• Conduct consultative discovery and product demonstrations aligned to institutional enrollment goals.
• Negotiate pricing and partnership agreements.
• Maintain and grow a healthy sales pipeline.
• Represent company at higher education conferences and industry events (approximately 25% travel).
• Help refine sales processes and GTM strategy during the company's early growth stage.

Qualifications

• Direct professional experience working in college or university admissions and enrollment.
• 3+ years of Account Executive or full-cycle B2B sales experience with a proven record of closing business.
• Experience selling to senior decision-makers through multi-stakeholder buying processes.
• Strong consultative selling skills and relationship-building ability.
• Excellent written and verbal communication.
• Ability to work from the NYC office three days per week.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience selling AI, SaaS, or edtech solutions.
• Existing network within higher education admissions or enrollment.
• Experience using HubSpot or similar CRM platforms.
• Background in partnership development or strategic relationship management.
• Early-stage startup experience.

Compensation And Benefits

• $90,000 base salary + $90,000 OTE (uncapped commission)
